Delores Marie Wells, 76, a resident of Riverdale, Iowa died Thursday, July 7, 2011 at her home.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. on Sunday, July 10, 2011 at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf, Iowa with a private family service to follow. Donations may be made to Vander Veer Botanical Park, Davenport, Iowa.
Delores was born September 25, 1934 in Badger, South Dakota the daughter of John and Lucille (Breault) Prewein. She was united in marriage to William J. Conklin in July of 1950 in Bettendorf, Iowa. She was later married to Richard W. “Dick” Wells on July 25, 1967 in Columbus, Missouri.
She lived in Riverdale for most of her life and worked out of her home as an upholsterer for many years.
Delores was an accomplished artist who enjoyed painting, drawing and sculpting. She also enjoyed gardening, flowers and being outdoors. She had a positive outlook on life and a strong spirit. She was always there to help those in need.
Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Dick Wells, Riverdale, Iowa; her daughters, Linda (Art) Wagar, Texas and Diana (Scott) Awkerman, Bettendorf; her son, Jeff (Pauline) Wells, Bettendorf; her grandchildren, Kevin, Kerri, Kelly, Julie, Stephanie and Jessica; her great-grandchildren, Austin, Kolbin, Olivia, Linda Mae, August and Miranda; her brother, Donnie (Barb) Prewein, Deltona, Florida; her sisters, Maryann (Stan) DeDecker, Port Byron, Illinois and Lucille Mooney, Bettendorf, Iowa and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father John Prewein, her mother, Lucille Hass and her brother John Hass.
