Denise Kaasa

March 8, 1967 — March 15, 2017

Denise L. “Deana” Kaasa, 50, of Davenport, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, March 18, 2017 at Chambers Funeral Home in Eldridge.     Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the services on Saturday at the funeral home.  Cremation rites will follow the funeral service.  Memorials may be made to North Ridge Community Church of Eldridge or to the family to be distributed in her honor.

Denise was born March 8, 1967 in Davenport, the daughter of Dennis & Bonita “Bonnie” (Egger) Jones.  She married to her life-long friend, Randy Stout with whom she had two lovely children.  She then was united in marriage to her life-long love, Gary D. Kaasa on April 13, 2007 in Davenport.  She had been employed with the Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center on 53rd Street in Davenport.

Denise had a smile that could light up a room.  She greatly enjoyed people, and having a positive outlook on life, she made friends with others easily.  She adored the color purple and enjoyed the company of her cats.  She also enjoyed fishing.  Denise and Gary had spent many hours in school classrooms and fairs educating students with their hatchery displays, Anythings Kaasable.

Those left to honor Denise’s memory include her husband, Gary; her children, Amanda Stout and Dalton Stout, both of Long Grove; her stepchildren, Kayla Kaasa of Ames, Kelsey Kaasa of Waterloo and Garner Kaasa of Cedar Falls; her father, Dennis Jones of Eldridge; her brother and sister-in-law, Don & Betsy Jones of Eldridge; her niece, Katelyn Jones; her nephew, Eli Jones; her step-father, Ed Gittings of Eldridge; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Tom & Joni Kaasa of Davenport, Sue Kaasa of Davenport, Natalie Kaasa of Iowa City and Travis & Melinda Kaasa of Davenport; and her mother-in-law, Jan Kaasa of Davenport

Denise was preceded in death by her mother, Bonnie in 2012; and her father-in-law, Junior Kaasa in 2007.
