Denise L. Campbell, 47, a resident of Bettendorf, Iowa died Thursday, November 13, 2003 at University Hospital, Iowa City, Iowa following an illness.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, November 17, 2003 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Chapel, Bettendorf. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 2:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
She was born October 27, 1956 in Decatur, Illinois, the daughter of Byard & Marilyn Cox and was a 1974 graduate of Bettendorf High School. On July 6, 1975, she married Phillip W. Campbell in Bettendorf.
Denise had been employed as manager of Spencer’s at SouthPark Mall, Moline, Illinois for 5 years. In earlier years, she had worked in the insurance business at Bituminous Insurance, Ruhl & Ruhl Insurance, Trissel, Graham & Toole Insurance and the Bartlett Agency.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and their many special friends, especially Deanna Seals and Melissa Hawthorn. She had a love for cats and was an avid supporter of Bettendorf and Quad-Cities Your Baseball organizations. In addition, she loved to watch the eagles along the river.
Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Phillip; her sons, Josiah Campbell and Jeremy Campbell, both of Bettendorf; her parents, Marilyn & Byard Cox of Bettendorf; her “special granddaughter,” Abigail Hershman of Bettendorf; her sister & brother-in-law, Diane & Kirby Lindgren of Crystal Lake, Illinois; her brother & sister-in-law, Michael & Barbara Cox of Crystal Lake; twenty-two nieces & nephews; and sixteen great-nieces & great-nephews.
