Dennis Moore

Dennis J. Moore, 94, of Davenport, Iowa passed away on Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf.

A memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday at St. Mark Evangelical Lutheran Church in Davenport.  Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. until time of services at the church.  Private family inurnment will be at the Rock Island Arsenal National Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Mark Evangelical Lutheran Church.  McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Dennis was born on January 24, 1925 in Davenport, the son of Dennis and Dona (Waters) Moore, Sr.  He served in the U.S. Army Air Corp during World War II.  On June 29, 1968, he married Marilyn Meyers at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa.  Dennis retired from automobile sales, and in his spare time he enjoyed ‘Jeeping’ through the mountains and playing pool.  He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and played in a pool league while living in Arizona.

Those left to honor his memory are his daughters, Donna (Jim) Brostrom of Waukesha, Wisconsin, Debbie Chebuhar of Davenport; step-daughter, Candy (Rick) Nagel of Park View, Iowa; step-son, David Meyers; three grandchildren, Amy (Kory) Kuhlman, Leslie Nagel, Valerie Brostrom; two great-grandchildren, Reese and Kendall.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife; daughter, Diana Evans; sister, Rosie Behan; and brother, Ray Magin.
