Dennis Murray

January 9, 1950 — October 24, 2013

Dennis Murray, 63, of Bettendorf, Iowa, passed away Thursday October 24, 2013 at Genesis East Medical Center after an extended illness.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Tuesday October 29, 2013 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf, Iowa.  He will be laid to rest at Oakdale Memorial Gardens in Davenport.  Visitation will be held from 4 to 7:30 PM Monday October 28, 2013 at the funeral home.  Memorials may be made to charity of the donor's choice.
Dennis was born January 9, 1950, in Davenport, the son of Irvin L. “Bud” and Constance (Carney) Murray.  He was united in marriage to Teresa “Terry” Bowers on May 26, 1972 in Davenport, Iowa.  Denny graduated from Assumption High School and Black Hawk College.  He was a printer at Desauliners for 20 years, active in the Graphic Arts union, and followed that with 17 years employment at Alcoa.
Denny was an active Patriot Guard member; he enjoyed working on computers, and spending time with his family. He was honored to be a part of the Patriot Guard, and especially enjoyed assisting and attending the Honor Flight events and volunteering with other Veterans events in the Quad Cities. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be greatly missed.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife Terry Murray, Bettendorf; daughter, Megan Murray and her daughter Hanna, Eldridge; son, Nicklaus (Tami) Murray and their daughters, Rayne and Cadence; brothers, Patrick (Barb) Murray, Tallahassee, Florida; Steven (Sue) Murray, Pine Island, Minnesota; Timothy (Chris) Murray, Davenport; sister, Kathleen Murray, St. Paul, Minnesota, numerous aunts, uncles and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
