Devin R. Taylor, 17, of Viola, Illinois, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 17, 2017 in Viola.
A memorial visitation to celebrate his life will be held on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf, Iowa. Cremation rites will be accorded and memorials may be made to the family or to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
Devin was born January 21, 2000 in Davenport, Iowa, the son of Hamilton Taylor & Lisa Stark. Devin was a beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend. He was deeply compassionate and caring to all.
He loved Jesus, his family and the family dogs. He enjoyed hunting, building computers and playing bass guitar. An excellent student, he attended Trinity Lutheran School, Bettendorf High School and was currently in his junior year at the University of Nebraska High School.
Those left to honor his memory include his mother and step-father Lisa & Mike Carlin of Viola; his father and step-mother, Hamilton & Kami Taylor of Richmond, Kentucky; his sisters, Alexa Hurr of Viola, Olivia Taylor of Richmond, Briena Carlin of Alabama and Beth Carlin in Alaska; his brother, Braden Taylor of Richmond; his grandparents, Jann Stark of Davenport, Ron & Kathy Stark of Dubuque, Alice & Rocky Rhoades of Estero, Florida and Katie Carlin of Bettendorf; his aunts, Lori Byrd of Ankeny, Iowa, Kathy (Mark) Nutt of Naperville and Thena “Angie” (Jake) Allen of Indianapolis; his uncle, Randy Carlin of Bettendorf; and his cousins, Paul and Nicole Byrd of Ankeny.
