Diane Ball

Diane L. Ball, 66, of Eldridge, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at Senior Star at Elmore Place in Davenport, Iowa.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, February 18, 2018 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf.  Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the services on Sunday at the funeral home.  Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Dubuque, Iowa.  Memorials may be made to the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital.

Diane was born April 7, 1951 in Aurora, Illinois.  A daughter of Clarence & Hilda (Vergon) Smith, she was adopted by William & Betty Forsythe.  She was united in marriage to Jon J. Ball on March 15, 1975 in Dubuque.

Diane sold Mary Kay cosmetics for several years.  She enjoyed traveling with Jon and together they had visited the lower 49 states. She will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother

Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Jon; her daughter, Heather (Bryan) Parker of Hempstead, Texas; her step-daughter, Karri (Michael) Naumann of Orlando, Florida; her step-sons, John (Dalyn) Ball of Fort Collins, Colorado; Daniel Ball of Fort Collins and Timothy Ball of Fort Collins; her grandchildren, Nicholas Ball and Brandon McBride; her step-grandchildren, Kesley, Haley, Brooke, Megan and Shawn; her sisters, Patricia (Tim) Learman of Elkhart, Indiana, Norma Jean Adams of North Carolina, Clarice Wharton of South Bend, Indiana; Mary Lane of Mishawaka, Indiana, H. Ruth (Joe) Forsberg of Mishawaka and Angela (Cecil) Stanley of Mishawaka; and her brother, Charles (Sherry) Smith of Elkins, West Virginia.

Diane was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Katina Marie Hager-Ball; and her brother, Carl Smith.
