Dixie Norveisas

Dixie L. Norveisas, 92, of Bettendorf, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, December 15, 2022 at Genesis Medical Center, East Campus in Davenport, Iowa.

A celebration of her life will be will be held at a date to be determined.

Dixie was born April 9, 1930 in Davenport, the daughter of Henry J. Sr. & Marie Antoinette (Knab) Karasek.

Dixie owned and worked at the former Greenfront Tavern in Bettendorf that her father founded.  Most recently, she was the breakfast hostess at the Hampton Inn in Bettendorf.

Those left to honor her memory include her daughters, Carol (Doug) Gorney of Iowa City, and Sandra Gorney of Bettendorf; her sons, Craig Norveisas and Todd Norveisas, both of Bettendorf; her grandchildren, Jesse Norveisas, Kyle Gorney, Lindsey Gorney, Emily Norveisas, Luke Gorney, Andy Norveisas, Bryanna Hernandez and Taylor Gorney; several great-grandchildren; and her son-in-law Dave Gorney of Roscoe, Illinois.

Dixie was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Shirley Hultquist and Henrietta McLain, her brother Henry Karasek Jr., her son Terry Norveisas, her daughter Linda Norveisas and her significant other, Charlie Abbott.
