Obituary: Dixie L. Williamson
Dixie L. Williamson, 80, a resident of LeClaire, Iowa and formerly of Unionville, Missouri died Monday, April 21, 2008 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A. M. Monday, April 28, 2008 at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Chapel, Bettendorf. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Unionville Cemetery, Unionville, Missouri. Memorials may be made to the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House.
Dixie was born July 18, 1927 in Hartford, Missouri, the daughter of George and Roxie (Cassady) Crooks. She was united in marriage to Richard S. Williamson on March 26, 1943 in Unionville. He preceded her in death.
Dixie and her husband Richard owned and operated service stations in Unionville and were oil & gasoline distributors for over 40 years.
She was a 50 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed reading, cooking and greatly loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Those left to honor her memory include her daughters, Mary Ann (Terry) Poling of Wichita, Kansas and Janet (Rob) Rector of LeClaire; her son, Thomas (Debbie Jacobsen) Williamson of St. Louis, Missouri; her grandchildren, Trisha Spears, Jon Probasco, Nichi Boyle, Jeff Williamson, Mallory Jacobsen, McKenzi Jacobsen, Michael Jacobsen, Curtis Rector, Joseph Rector and Elly Rector; her great-grandchildren, Cooper, Lydia, Aysun, Pierce & Lily; her uncle, Wendell Cassady of East Peoria, Illinois; and her sister-in-law, Irene Smith of Bolivar, Missouri.
Along with her husband she was preceded in death by her infant brother, Jerry Dean
