D. Norida (Frank) Mohr, 80, a resident of Eldridge, went home to the Lord on Thursday, December 10, 2009.
A memorial service will be held at 11:30 A.M., Tuesday, January 5, 2010 at St. John’s United Methodist Church in Davenport. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Vera French Center in Davenport. Chambers Funeral Home, Eldridge, is assisting the family with arrangements.
Norida was born April 29, 1929 in Oak Park, Illinois, the daughter of William & Hattie (Herzlick) Frank. She was an alumnus of Iowa State College, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Home Economics. She had a brief career at WOC in Davenport hosting a live cooking show via television.
Norida married Ned Mohr on September 20, 1952 in Park Ridge, Illinois. She was the strong, loving mother to her family. She earned her teaching accreditation from Marycrest College and substitute taught in the Davenport School District. In addition, she worked and served for many years at the Opportunity Center in Rock Island, Illinois.
Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Ned; her daughter Mary Beth; and her sons, Robert and William.
