Dolores Ogden

Dolores M. Ogden, 88, of Davenport, Iowa, died Sunday, February 22, 2015 at Trinity Medical Center in Rock Island, Illinois

No services are planned at this time and burial will be in Fairmount Cemetery in Davenport.

Dolores was born February 20, 1927 in Davenport, the daughter of Russell & Myrtle (Grafton) Waits.  She was united in marriage to Frank L. Ogden Jr. on October 14, 1944 in Davenport.  He preceded her in death on February 12, 1997.

Dolores, along with her husband, owned and operated Ogden’s Welding and Wrecker Service in Davenport for 32 years.  She had volunteered at St. Mark Evangelical Lutheran Church in recent years.  She was also a Cub Scout leader for several years and proud to be a Davenport west-ender.  She was the glue that held her family together, having hosted 65 years of Christmas celebrations at her home.

Those left to honor her memory include her daughters, Sandra Carney of Davenport, Rebecca Buhman of Bettendorf and Roberta (Rick) Frantz of Davenport; her sons, Russell (Linda) Ogden of Battlefield, Missouri and Louis (Connie) Ogden of Davenport; 12 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Lillian Ogden; and a step-half brother-in-law, Tom Ogden of Florida.

In addition to her husband, Frank, Dolores was preceded in death by her parents; a son, David W. Ogden; a son-in-law, John Buhman; a brother-in-law, Don Ogden; her grandson, Jason Carney; and a great-grandson, Rylan Ogden.
