Dolores Shreve

Dolores A. “Dee” Shreve, 78, a resident of Bettendorf, passed away Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, February 22, 2016 at Asbury United Methodist Church in Bettendorf. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 A.M. Monday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Quad City Emmaus Community or Asbury United Methodist Church Garden Ministry.
Dee was born on February 22, 1937 in Dixon, Iowa, the daughter of Lawrence and Loretta (Christiansen) Hesse. On August 8, 1959 she married Robert T. Shreve. They later divorced.
Dee worked as a procurement clerk at the Rock Island Arsenal for 22 years, retiring in 1998. She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church and enjoyed crocheting, puzzles and gardening. Dee was an avid Iowa Hawkeyes Fan.
Those left to honor her memory include her sons, Mark T. Shreve of Waterloo, Iowa and David L. Shreve of Davenport; grandchildren, Mathew, Mallory, Amanda and Abbie (Pat); great-grandson, Jeremiah; and her sister, Joyce (Tom) Refshauge of Rogers, Arkansas.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Donald Hesse.
Dee’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Genesis Medical Center Oncology and Cardiac Step-Down Units and Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House for the care and support given to her during her stay.
