Donald Kintz

Donald E. “Don” Kintz, 75, of Bettendorf, passed away, Thursday, October 24, 2013 at Genesis Medical Center, East Campus in Davenport.
Services celebrating his life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 28, 2013 at Christ Family Reformed Church in Davenport. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 27th at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Christ Family Reformed Church, Camp Courageous, or to the family for an educational fund for his grandchildren.
Don was born on February 10, 1938 in West Branch, Iowa, the son of Roy Lee and Fern (Weineke) Kintz. On February 14, 1959 in Olin, Iowa, he married Nancy Hoppe.
Don worked in the trucking industry for most of his life, most recently at Wenger Truck Line. He was a volunteer firefighter while living in Olin. Don enjoyed camping and gardening. He loved his grandchildren’s sports.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Nancy Kintz of Bettendorf; three sons, Kevin (Michelle) Kintz, Mark (Sandra Smith) Kintz and Kyle Kintz, all of Bettendorf; two grandchildren, Hanna and Kel; two step-grandchildren, Cody and Mikey; brother, Roy Kintz of Cedar Rapids and an aunt, Doris Lang of West Branch.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
