Donald James Moran

Funeral services for Donald James Moran, 80, of Davenport, will be 11:00 am on Wednesday at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf, IA. Burial will follow at Davenport Memorial Park, with military rites conducted by the American Legion #26, Davenport. Family will greet friends from 10:00 am to service time at the funeral home on Wednesday. 

        Donald passed away on Saturday, October 14, 2023, at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf.

        Donald James Moran was born on August 29, 1943, in Davenport, IA, the son of James and Helen (Kirby) Moran. He served in the United States Air Force from 1961 to 1965. He was a lifelong resident of Davenport. He worked as an electrician at Alcoa for 31 ½ years retiring in 1998. He then worked for Mehta Tech inc. in Eldridge from July 2000 to February 2014.

Survivors include his sisters; Mary Reiter of Davenport, Blanche Parks of Ormond Beach, FL, stepson; Daryll Long of Pensacola, FL, Cousin; Todd Huebbe of Davenport, nieces and nephews; Shelli (James) Dean, Eric Reiter, Kristi (Jamey) Morgan, David (Mandy) Parks, Erin (Lewis) Clark and best friend; Jim Siem of Davenport.

        He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law Lee Parks.

Memorials may be directed to the Wounded Warrior Project or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
