Donald K. Hamann, 48, a resident of Eldridge, Iowa died Saturday, November 1, 2003 at the Bettendorf Healthcare Center following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, November 4, 2003 at Chambers Funeral Home, Eldridge. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family..
He was born November 18, 1954 in Davenport, Iowa, the son of Donald E. & Janet (Kresse) Hamann. On November 6, 1976, he married Diane Walker in Aledo, Illinois. He graduated from the autobody repair program at Scott Community College.
Don was employed as an autobody mechanic at Dahl Ford in Davenport for 16 years, retiring in 1994.
Among the things he enjoyed were playing cards, especially poker, with his friends, participating in tractor pulls, motocross racing and “puttering” in his garage. He was very mechanically inclined and could fix about anything. Some of his most enjoyable times were those spent with his beloved family.
Those left to honor his memory include his daughter, Cara Hamann of Denton, Texas ; his son, Joshua Hamann of Davenport; his sisters & brothers-in-law, Lisa & Ken Farrar of Tecumseh, Michigan, Becky & Art Wentworth of Davenport and Kathy Hamann of Tampa, Florida; his brother, Doug Hamann of Davenport; his step-father, Paul Lockhart of Pocatello, Idaho; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles & cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
