Donna Ann Dobbs, 85, a resident of Mountain Grove, Missouri and formerly of Buffalo, Iowa died Thursday, August 12, 2004 at St. John’s Regional Health Center, Springfield, Missouri following a long illness.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, August 14, 2004 at Buffalo Friends Church, Buffalo. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Buffalo. Visitation will be one hour before services at the church. Memorials may be made to the family. McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf, Iowa is assisting the family with arrangements.
She was born April 22, 1919 in Drury, Missouri, the daughter of James Marian & Melissia Jane (Proctor) Shelton. On August 7, 1936, she married Blayne Dobbs in Drury. He preceded her in death on October 9, 1981.
Donna was converted & baptized in the Baptist Church at a young age and maintained her faith in the Lord, Jesus Christ all of her life. She greatly enjoyed having her family around her and liked to visit with her family & friends. She looked forward to visits from her home health nurses of whom she was very fond.
Donna liked to watch game shows and spent her spare time working word-search and crossword puzzles.
Those left to honor her memory include her children, Betty Alsup of Davenport, Iowa; Emogene Sprague & husband, Larry of Drury, Missouri; Shirley Dean Lilienthal of Buffalo, Missouri; Beverly Ann Tucker & husband, Jim of Kimberling City, Missouri; and Ronald Dobbs & wife, Lucy of Mountain Grove, Missouri; her son-in-law, Sam Carlson of Mountain Grove; twenty-one grandchildren; fifty-seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives & friends who will miss her very much.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Sharlene Carlson and her sons-in-law, Willy Alsup and Albert Lilienthal.
