Dora Mae Osborn, 70, a resident of Bettendorf, passed away Sunday, February 23, 2014 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf.
Funeral services celebrating her life will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. Burial will be at Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services on Wednesday. Memorials may be made to the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House.
Born on August 21, 1943 in New Boston, IL, Dora was the daughter of Louis and Gladys (Hood) Whitehall. In 1962 she married Dennis E. McElroy. They later divorced. She then married Kenneth W. Osborn at St. James Lutheran Church in Bettendorf on December 5, 1986.
Dora enjoyed time spent in the garden with her flowers and doing yard work. She enjoyed sewing and cooking. Dora cherished her time spent with her family. She was a member of St. James Lutheran Church in Bettendorf.
Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Ken Osborn; six daughters, Michele (Arthur) McFadden of Bettendorf, Angela Schafer of Bettendorf, Crystal Lovell of Muscatine, Deanna (Ken) Edgington of Columbia, MO, Susan (Robert) Axsom of Columbus Junction, IA and Karol (Michael) Peck of Muscatine; two sons, Kenneth (Connie) Osborn, Jr. and Gary Osborn, both of Muscatine; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; one sister and one brother, Martha (Wayne) King and Donald Whitehall, both of Aledo.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, James Whitehall and one sister, Cindy Brewer.
