Doris Morris

Doris E. Morris, 90, a resident of Davenport, died Monday, October 24, 2016 at Ridgecrest Village in Davenport.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 28, 2016 at the Koning Chapel at Ridgecrest Village in Davenport. Burial will be at Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation will be one hour prior to mass on Friday. Memorials may be made to Women of the Moose in Davenport or Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church. Chambers Funeral Home in Eldridge is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on November 22, 1925 in Carroll, Iowa, Doris was the daughter of Herman G. and Louisa (Berg) Lohman. On April 9, 1943 in Bethany, Missouri, she married Howard J. Morris. He preceded her in death on July 3, 1996.

Doris worked as a waitress for the Moose Lodge in Davenport and as a cashier at the Holiday Inn. She was a life member of the Women of the Moose, VFW Auxiliary, Daughters of Isabella and a girl scout leader. Doris enjoyed crocheting, quilting, reading, playing BINGO and working puzzles. She was a charter member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Davenport.

Those left to honor her memory include her children, Sharon (Ken) Freund of Park View and James Morris of Davenport; seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and three sisters.
