Doris Schneider

Doris J. Schneider, 90, of Davenport, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, April 17, 2016 at the Davenport Lutheran Home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 22, 2016 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf.  Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.  Burial will follow in Davenport Memorial Park.  Memorials may be made to American Legion Post 26 in Davenport.

Doris was born August 6, 1925 in Davenport, the daughter of Leroy L. & Eda L. (Chandler) Doyle.  She was united in marriage to Ralph E. Schneider on February 15, 1947 in Davenport.

Doris was retired as a typesetter from Tri-City Blueprint.  She was a member of the American Legion Post 26 Auxiliary.  She had enjoyed camping with her family in earlier years and also enjoyed fishing and boating.  Doris and Ralph travelled for many years and spent winters in Texas.

Those left to honor Doris’ memory include her husband, Ralph; her daughters and sons-in-law, Donna & Craig Nelson of Ames, Iowa and Beverly & Dan Scott of Wilton, Iowa; her son and daughter-in-law, Tom & Diane Schneider of Davenport; 5 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents.
