Dorotha Turner

Dorotha Lee “Dee” Turner, 86, a resident of Bettendorf, died Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at Manor Care, Utica Ridge in Davenport.
Private family funeral services will be held with burial to be in Boswell, Indiana. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf is assisting the family with arrangements.
Born on November 3, 1927 in Iroquois County, IL Dorotha was the daughter of Harmer and Maude (Massengill) Wallace. On August 8, 1948 she married Gerald Gene Turner.
In years past, Dorotha was an active member of Bettendorf Christian Church where she was involved in the daycare ministry and the Christian Women’s Club. Dorotha was an excellent cook and cherished her time spent with family.
Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Gerald “Gerry” Turner of Bettendorf; her children, Bryan (Susan) Turner of Norwalk, IA and Debbie (Jack) Kaminski of Miami, FL; five grandchildren, Bryan, John, Cory, Jennifer and Jami; four great-grandchildren, Brandon, Cameron, Luke and Addison; and her sister, JoAnn (Spencer) Gibbs of North Carolina.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
