Dorothy Reynolds

Dorothy E. Reynolds, 63, a resident of Bettendorf, Iowa died on Monday, December 10, 2012 at Genesis Medical Center, West Campus in Davenport, Iowa following an extended illness.

A service to celebrate her life will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, December 14, 2012 at 1 ^st Assembly of God Church, 1811 18 ^th St. in Bettendorf where she was a devoted member.  Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Thursday at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home of Bettendorf and from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. on Friday at the church.  Memorials may be made to the church.

She was born in Davenport on January 8, 1949, the daughter of Nicholas & Betty (Smith) Berry.  On February 3, 1969, she was united in marriage to Tom K. Reynolds in Bettendorf.

Her family and her church were her the joy of her life.  Dorothy worked in the church office, led the choir, the youth choir and participated in a multitude of other ministries over the years.  Whenever and wherever help was needed, Dorothy was there.

She loved music and sang in a trio for a number of years. Earlier in her life, she volunteered as a Brownie scout leader and always put her family, her faith and her many friends first.

Those left to honor her memory include her beloved husband, Tom; her daughter, Tracy (Albert) Gourrier of Bettendorf; her granddaughter, Megan; her sister, Nancy (Corey) Black of Crestview, Florida; her brother, John (Mary) Berry of Des Moines, Iowa; many nieces & nephews who knew her as “Ande” or “Aunt De;” her close & special friends, Edna & Richard Buettner of Bettendorf; and many wonderful friends.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her brothers, Jim Berry and Dan Berry; and by her parents.
