Dorothy J. Koprucki

Dorothy J. Koprucki, 78, a resident of Bettendorf, Iowa, died Tuesday, January 25, 2005 at Genesis Medical Center-West Campus, Davenport. Funeral services will be 11:30 A.M., Friday, January 28, 2005 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Bettendorf. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Rock Island National Cemetery, Rock Island, Illinois. Memorials may be made to the church.
Dorothy Joan was born September 10, 1926 in Kewanee, Illinois, the daughter of Joseph and Agnes Rose (Hoogerwooerf) Rule. She was a graduate of Kewanee High School. She was united in marriage to Robert George Koprucki on June 20, 1946 in Kewanee.
Dorothy and Robert had owned and operated the former Bettendorf Popcorn House for 20 years. They were located in Duck Creek Plaza, Bettendorf for 14 years. Upon selling the Popcorn House, Dorothy was later employed by the deli department in the Bettendorf Hy-Vee Food Store for several years.
She enjoyed playing cards and was a member of several Bridge clubs over the years.
Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Robert; her daughters, Anne Emerson of Amarillo, Texas, Joleen Koprucki of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Mary Ross of Rock Island; her son, Joseph Vincent Koprucki of Bettendorf; and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and by her sister, Betty Burt.
