Dorothy K. Reynolds

Dorothea “Dorothy” Kathryn Reynolds, 79, a resident of Davenport, Iowa died Sunday, December 5, 2004 at Genesis Medical Center, East Campus in Davenport.
Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, December 8, 2004 at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 6:30 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post # 9128, Bettendorf, Iowa; Mississippi Bend A.E.A. #9 for Kent Richard Boone or the First Baptist Church, Davenport, Iowa.
Dorothy was born January 16, 1925 in Shawlville, Iowa the daughter of Daniel & Lucille (Foster) Hurt. She married Carl M. Reynolds on May 30, 1952 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Carl preceded her in death on June 15, 1997.
Dorothy was employed as a housekeeper by the former St. Luke’s Hospital in Davenport for 8 years. After retiring, she worked as a private housekeeper for several area homes. Dorothy enjoyed shopping, traveling and her weekly Friday morning breakfast at Bob Evans. Her memberships included the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post # 9128 and the First Baptist Church.
Those left to honor her memory include her sister and caregiver, Geraldine Bowers & her husband, Kent of Davenport; her brother James Hurt of Davenport and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her daughter, Edna Joann Rice in 2002; her son, Daniel M. Rice, in 1947; her parents; and her brothers Floyd of Albion, Iowa; Joe, Lester, Howard and Elmer all of Davenport and Franklin of Centerville, Iowa.
