Dorothy L. Butterfield, 77, a resident of Bettendorf, Iowa died Saturday, December 25, 2004 at Genesis Medical Center, West Campus in Davenport, Iowa following an extended illness.
A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date. Memorials may be made to the family. McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf is assisting the family with arrangements.
She was born July 12, 1927 in Wessington Springs, South Dakota, the beloved daughter of Cole Jonathan & Marion (Boysen) Cameron. On November 1, 1944, she was united in marriage to Allen J. “AJ” Butterfield. He preceded her in death on July 21, 2001.
Dorothy retired from Butterfield & Associates in Davenport, an accounting firm she helped establish in 1980.
She & her late husband enjoyed traveling in their motor homes and spending their winters in Arizona for many years.
Those left to honor her memory include her daughters & sons-in-law, Pat & Jim Eagle of Wessington Springs, South Dakota, Barb & Lowell Ahlers of Bettendorf and Sue & Randy Schelske of Virgil, South Dakota; her son, Jim Butterfield of Davenport; nine grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; her brothers, Allen Cameron in Arizona, Jerry Cameron of Pierre, South Dakota and Bob Cameron of Presho, South Dakota; and her aunt, Dorothy Boysen of Pierre, South Dakota.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Todd Eagle; three granddaughters; one great-grandchild; her brothers, Herb Cameron and Don Cameron; and her parents.
