Dorothy L. Vance

Dorothy L. Vance, 86, of LeClaire, Iowa, died Wednesday, November 1, 2006 at Genesis Medical Center-West Campus, Davenport.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Friday, November 3, 2006 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf. Visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M. until the time of the services on Friday. Burial will be in Glendale Cemetery, LeClaire. Memorials may be made to Scott County Humane Society.
Dorothy was born February 24, 1920 in Burlington, Iowa. She was united in marriage to Philip Clayton in 1937 in Burlington, Iowa. He preceded her in death in 1948. She was later united in marriage to Ewald “Babe” Vance in 1950 in Davenport. He preceded her in death in 1994.
Dorothy had helped her husband, Babe, in the operation of Babe’s Radiator Shop in Davenport for several years.
Those left to honor her memory include her daughter, Susan Filbrandt, of LeClaire; her grandchildren, Pamela & Paul; her great-grandchildren, Cheyenne & Savannah; her great-great grandson, Kaydon; and her sister-in-law, Katherine Schwarz, of LeClaire.
In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her son, Marty Vance in 1980.
