Dorothy M. Uzzo, 89, a resident of Bettendorf, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, May 30, 2010 at Genesis Medical Center, West Campus, Davenport.
A private funeral service will be held at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. As per her wishes there will be no visitation. Burial will be in the Rock Island National Cemetery next to her husband of 52 years. Memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Scott County.
Dorothy was born April 13, 1921 in Harvey, Illinois, the daughter of Stanley & Marjorie (Gordon) Stinton. She was united in marriage to Salvatore I. “Sal” Uzzo on December 16, 1941 in Harvey. He preceded her in death on June 2, 1993.
Those left to honor her memory include her daughter, Donna Wright of Davenport; her sons and daughters-in-law, David & Connie Uzzo of Davenport and Thomas & Sue Uzzo of Springfield, Illinois; her granddaughters, Cynthia (Al) Hurtado, Sandra (Michael) Mansil, Michelle (Christopher) Barber, and Kristi and Amanda Uzzo; her grandson, Tony Uzzo; one great-granddaughter; and five great-grandsons.
In addition to her husband, Sal, Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; her grandson, David Uzzo, Jr. and her sister, Alice Collins.
