Douglas Chambers

Douglas Keith Chambers, 53, a resident of Bettendorf, Iowa passed away on Thursday, December 2, 2010 at Genesis Medical Center, West Campus, Davenport, Iowa.

A celebration of Doug’s life will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, December 18, 2010 at the Bettendorf Christian Church, Bettendorf, Iowa. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association. McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf, Iowa is assisting the family with arrangements.

Doug was born on February 11, 1957 in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of Keith E. and Marilyn J. (Powers) Chambers.

He worked as a delivery driver for the Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center, Davenport, Iowa. Doug was also a long-time service advisor at the former John Keady automobile dealership. He was also a member of Bettendorf Christian Church.

Doug enjoyed running, fishing, classic cars and loved all types of music. Doug will always be remembered for his sense of humor, his kindness towards all he knew and his love for his family.

Those left to honor his memory include his sons, Jeremy Chambers and Justin Chambers, both of Bettendorf, Iowa; his sister, Debra Stephens, Bettendorf, Iowa; his brother, Dan (Xinia) Chambers, Irvine, California; his granddaughters, Reagan Chambers and Rileigh Chambers; his nieces, Brandi Stephens, Sofia Chambers, Lorena Chambers and Daniela Chambers; his nephews, Zachary Stephens and Joshua Stephens and his great-niece, Zara Stephens.

He was preceded in death by his father Keith.
