Doyle D. Radcliff, 81, a resident of LeClaire, Iowa died Monday, November 10, 2003 at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, November 12, 2003 at the New Life Community Church, LeClaire where he was a member. Burial will be in Oakridge Cemetery, Princeton, Iowa. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at the church. Memorials may be made to the family. McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf, Iowa is assisting the family with arrangements.
He was born November 11, 1921 in Wayne County, Iowa, the son of Irvin H. & Maryetta (Brown) Radcliff. On July 12, 1942, he married the former Elsie Annetta Culver in Bellevue, Iowa.
Doyle was a heavy equipment operator affiliated with Local 537 of Rock Island, Illinois for many years, retiring in 1983.
He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of the former LeClaire American Legion.
Doyle was an accomplished metalworker who could build or repair just about anything. He enjoyed having breakfast with his many friends and especially treasured the times spent with his beloved family.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Elsie; his daughter & son-in-law, Joyce & Don Shipley of Cherokee Village, Arkansas; his sons & daughters-in-law, Everett & Darlene Radcliff and Steve & Darlene Radcliff, all of Princeton, Gale & Olivia Radcliff of DeWitt, Iowa and David & Karen Radcliff of Davenport; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; his sisters, Carolyn Petersen and Fairy Weston, both of Sherrard, Illinois; and many nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Helen Havens; and his great-granddaughter, Alexa.
