Duane L. Brown, 69, of Davenport, died Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at Genesis Medical Center, East Campus in Davenport.
Per his request, there will be no services or visitation. A celebration of life for family and friends will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 25, 2015 at Gunchies, 2905 Telegraph Road in Davenport. Memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Scott County.
Duane was born December 9, 1945 in Red Oak, Iowa, the son of Ray & Mildred (Bederski) Brown. He served in the United States Air Force from 1964 to 1966. Duane was united in marriage to Sharon K. Arnce on November 6, 1969 in Rock Island, Illinois.
Duane was retired from Alcoa after 37 years. His favorite pastime was watching his son Cary racing at the fairgrounds and visiting with his friends at LAE auto.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Sharon, of 45 years; his children, Eva (Pat) Otte of Victor, Iowa, Cathy (Art) Bartleson of Buffalo, Iowa, Amy (Mark) Kelling of Bettendorf and Cary (Amy Dengler-Puckett) Brown of Davenport; 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and his sister, LuDean (Ned) Arp of Davenport.
Duane was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Dean Brown.
