Duane R. Faur

Duane R. Faur, 61, a resident of LeClaire, Iowa died on Friday, May 19, 2006 at Manor Care Nursing Center in Davenport. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, May 23, 2006 at the Rock Island National Cemetery. Those wishing to attend the service should meet at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf, Iowa by 9:30 A.M. Tuesday. Visitation will be from 6:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family.
He was born August 29, 1944 in Rock Island, Illinois, the son of Paul & Helen (Nelson) Faur.
Duane was a self-employed contractor in the State of Maine some years ago.
He was a 25-year member of AA and enjoyed reading and history. He had a special fondness for animals and was a regular contributor to the Scott County Humane Society.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Air Force, receiving his honorable discharge in February of 1976.
Those left to honor his memory include his sisters, Barbara VanHecke of Davenport and Carol Walsh of LeClaire, Iowa; and his brother, John Hein of Crystal Lake, Illinois.
Duane was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Janet Voorhis; and his brother-in-law, Jerry Walsh.
