Earl Wendland

Earl L. Wendland, 96, a life-long resident of Bettendorf and Davenport went to be with his Lord & Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, December 11, 2012.  He passed away at Genesis Medical Center, East Campus in Davenport.

Per his request, there will be no visitation and private family services will be held at Davenport Memorial Park.

Earl was born July 15, 1916 in Davenport, the son of Theodore & Caroline (Everman) Wendland.  He was united in marriage to Dorothy M. Zmunt on September 4, 1937 in Davenport.  She preceded him in death on September 4, 1975.

Earl was a homebuilder in the Quad-City area for many years and had most recently sold business signs.  In earlier years, he was a member of the Elks Lodge and the Vikings Club.

Those left to honor his memory include his daughter, Trudy Santilla of Orlando, Florida; his sons, Todd Wendland of Orlando and Terry (Karen) Wendland of Lynchburg, Virginia; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Earl was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Hertha, Salesta, Grace & Vernice; and his brothers, Edwin & Ray.
