Edward J. “Cake” Loerzel, 61, of Davenport, died on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at Genesis Medical Center, East Campus in Davenport.
A memorial gathering will be held beginning at 12:00 p.m., Sunday, May 31, 2015 at the USW Local 105 Union Hall, 880 Devils Glen Road in Bettendorf.
Ed was born June 3, 1953 in Chicago, Illinois, the son of George J. Loerzel Jr. & Rosemary (Grogan.) A veteran of the United States Navy, he served four years, honorably discharged in 1977. Ed was retired from Alcoa where he had been employed as an electrician.
He was united in marriage to Jolene Ronek on April 20, 2014.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Jolene; his sons, Jeff and Tony Loerzel; his step-sons, Travis Ronek and Keri Kuberski; his daughter, Jessica Loerzel; his step-daughter, Shannon Kuberski; his grandchildren, Jazmine, Elaina, Jackson, Bastin, Tyler and Kely; his brothers, Jerry (Trudi) Loerzel, George (Jo)Loerzel III, Pat (Terianne) Loerzel, Dennis Loerzel and Phillip Loerzel; and his sisters, Marianne (Matt) Cabel and Laurie Griffen.
