Edward James (Angell) Mohr, born November 1, 1939 (83 years old), passed away peacefully in his sleep at home surrounded by his family on February 13, 2023.
He was the son of Louis and Vivienne Mohr of LeClaire, IA. Ed graduated from LeClaire High School Class of 1957. After graduating high school Ed went on to work in the barge industry, retiring as Director of Marine Operations from ConAgra, Inc. He proudly served in the US Army, stationed in Korea, from 1962 through 1965.
Ed, a beloved father and grandfather, loved spending time and traveling with his family, playing golf, boating and entertaining friends with his special shrimp boils.
He enjoyed being a snowbird between Illinois and Florida for many years, most recently residing in The Villages, Florida. For those that knew him, he had a passion for animals and treats available at all times.
He is survived by his children Rick (Rosalie) McDannel, Christina (Lloyd) Hendrix, Machele (Mike) Stetson, Sheryl (Ben) Howes, Jodie King and Lorie (David) Rupp; thirteen grandchildren, twenty two great- grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; A step-sister Helen Schebler; sister in law Sue (Kenny) Oetzmann and many nieces and nephews.
Ed was preceded in death by his loving wife Bonnie (Brown) Mohr; parents Louis and Vivienne Mohr; father, Howard Angell and step-brother Dave Mohr.
Services will be held at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf, at 1:00 pm on Saturday, February 25, 2023. Family will greet friends on Saturday from 11:00 am to service time at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Glendale Cemetery, LeClaire, where military rites will be conducted by the American Legion #26.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to The American Cancer Society or St. Jude’s Hospital.
