Edward K. Nutt, 91, of Bettendorf, Iowa died on Monday at the Iowa Masonic Health Facility.
Visitation will be from 9:30 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. Friday, July 17, 2020 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf followed by graveside services at Oakdale Memorial Gardens in Davenport at 11:00 A.M. Due to the Covid-19 virus, the family requests social distancing and that face masks be worn. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association.
He was born in Quincy, Illinois on October 15, 1928, son of William Matthew and Blanche Bolt and was a graduate of Quincy College and San Diego City College. He was also a World War II veteran of the U.S. Navy. In 1955, he married Patricia Welch in Quincy.
Edward was a Tool Engineer for the J. I. Case Company of Bettendorf, retiring in 1988 after 25 years of service.
He participated in the Bix-7 for 25 years, ran in multiple marathons and enjoyed sports of all kinds. His beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the true joy in his life.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia; his daughters, Paula Clarke of Davenport and Marcy (Jay) Gast of St. Paul, Minnesota; his sons, Edward Matthew (James Caywood) Nutt of Indianapolis, Indiana and William Mark (Kathy) Nutt of Richland, Washington; his grandchildren, Nathan Clarke, Elizabeth Clarke, Alexandra (Matthew) Tarabochia-Gast, Johnathan Gast, Christopher Gast, William Nutt and Joseph Nutt; his great-grandchildren, Eric Clarke and Anthony Tarabochia-Gast; and his sister, Marilyn (David) Klinger of San Antonio, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, William Eugene, Maxon “Max” and Donald “Donnie”.
