Edward Williams, 40, a resident of Davenport, Iowa died Saturday, December 27, 2003 at his home.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 31, 2004 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Chapel, Bettendorf, Iowa. The family will greet friends from 12:00 P.M. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family.
He was born February 24, 1963 in Proctor, Arkansas, the son of John C. & Queen (Bryant) Williams. He was united in marriage to Laurie K. Nickels on July 31, 1987 in Davenport.
Edward was employed with the City of Davenport as an Environmental and City Code Inspector and had been with the city for the past 12 years.
Ed was an accomplished carpenter, mechanic and jack of all trades. There was virtually nothing that he could not build or repair and was always doing something to improve his home.. He completely restored a 1962 GMC pick-up truck and was a member of the “Jus An Old Truck Club.”
His children were the special joy in his life and he treasured the times spent with them. Even though he will be dearly missed, he will always be fondly remembered by those who knew & loved him.
Those left to honor his memory include, his wife, Laurie; his daughters, Breanna Nickels and Aubrey Williams, both of Davenport; his son, Jevin Williams of Davenport; his mother, Queen Ross of West Memphis, Arkansas; his sisters, Christine Vanderbilt, Elizabeth Stone, Barbara Buckingham, Loistine Webb, Connie Stokes, Patricia Parks, Julia Fleming and Angie Wesson; and his brothers, Charles Williams, Henry Williams, James Williams and Eddie Williams.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Justine; his father; and his sisters, Lorece, Brenda and Mary Esther.
