Eleanor "Jean" Youngman

Funeral services for Eleanor “Jean” Youngman, 90, of Lancaster, MO, formerly of Dewitt, will be 11:00 am on Friday at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf. Burial will follow at Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Pleasant Valley, IA. Family will greet friends on Friday from 9:30 am to service time at the funeral home.

Eleanor passed away on Sunday, April 20, 2025, at her home, Lancaster, MO. Eleanor was born on April 3, 1935, in Hannibal, MO, the daughter of William and Mable (Taylor) Mecum. She married Walter Youngman on March 5, 1955. He preceded her in death on December 12, 1964. She worked as a housekeeper for 15 years at Twin Pines Nursing Home, Kirksville, MO, and the Mississippi Belle II, Clinton, IA, retiring in 2005. She served as a Den Mother, she enjoyed crocheting, crafts, gardening and spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her children, Walter (Dave) Youngman Jr., Donna (Steve) Fuhlman, Edith Patterson, Roger Youngman, JoAnn (Bobby) Collis, Mary (Donald) Baldwin, 28 grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Richard Youngman, a grandson, James Heston and two sisters and six brothers.

Memorials may be directed to Kings Harvest Pet Rescue no kill shelter, Davenport.
