Eleanor F. Evans

Eleanor F. Evans, a resident of Camanche, Iowa, died Sunday, June 21, 2009 at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at Chambers Funeral Home, Eldridge. Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the services on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the family.
Eleanor was born February 22, 1923 in Virden, Illinois, the daughter of August & Dolphina (Fabina) Opremchak. She was united in marriage to LeRoy E. Evans on June 28, 1947 in Moline, Illinois. He preceded her in death on August 29, 1994.
Eleanor was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed playing cards and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was also a devoted Chicago Cubs fan.
Those left to honor her memory include her daughter, Venetta “Jo” (Gary) Struble of Princeton, Iowa; her son, Robert (Laura) Evans, of Camanche; her grandchildren, Mary Ann, Lacy, Josh, Jared and Christy; five great-grandchildren; her sister, Teresa Gillin, of Bettendorf; and her brothers, Ernie Opremchak, of Rock Island, Illinois, Bob Opremchak, of Streator, Illinois and Richard Opremchak of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
In addition to her husband, Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents; 3 sisters and 2 brothers.
