Ella Davison

Funeral services for Ella L. Davison, 81, of Galva, IL, will be 10:00 am on Monday, February 27, 2023, at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf, IA. Burial will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery, Davenport, IA. Family will greet friends on Sunday from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the funeral home.

Ella passed away on Monday, February 20, 2023, at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg, IL.

Ella Louise Selzer was born on October 9, 1941, in Maquoketa, IA, the daughter of Johnny and Alice (Kinley) Selzer. She married Frankie “Frank” Davison on February 11, 1963, in Moline, Il, they were married for 60 years.  In her early years she and her husband raised their two daughters and enjoyed life together on their hobby farm in Maquoketa, Iowa.  After moving to Lacon, IL, she worked as a seamstress for an interior decorator.  She then went on to earn her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree at age 52 and  worked for numerous nursing facilities in Illinois. Ella was the owner of Prairie Arts Center in Bishop Hill, IL, and was known for being a skillful Fiber Artist. Ella will be remembered among her friends for her generosity and hospitality.

Survivors include her husband, Frank, of Galva, IL, daughters, Sheri (Doyle) Stafford of Lacon, IL, Barbara (Carvel) Morgan of Davenport, IA, grandchildren, Michael Stafford, Kimberly Stafford, Matthew Stafford, Angelique Morgan and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Carl Selzer.
