Ella Mae Duvall, 78, a resident of Bettendorf, Iowa died Wednesday, January 26, 2005 at Genesis Medical Center, West Campus in Davenport, Iowa.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, January 29, 2005 at the First Christian Church, 510 E. 15th St., Davenport where she was a member. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. and 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Friday at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf. Memorials may be made to the church or to the Bettendorf Lions Club.
Ella Mae was born August 31, 1926 in Clinton, Iowa, the daughter of Ambrose & Mabelle (Hudson) Ludwig. On January 2, 1945, she was united in marriage to Charles L. Duvall in Phoenix City, Alabama.
She was employed as a teller with the Bettendorf Bank for six years, retiring in 1971. While at the bank, she was the first teller to provide service at the drive-up. In earlier years, she had been a teller with the Iowa-Illinois Gas & Electric Company in Bettendorf and later, in East Moline, Illinois.
Among the things she enjoyed were crocheting, playing cards with her family & friends and ceramics.
Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Charles; her son & daughter-in-law, Dennis & Nancy Duvall of Davenport; five grandchildren, including Nicole Pierce, Crystal Ross & Brittany Duvall; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
