Elsie S. Hart, 98, loving mother, grandmother, aunt & friend passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday, January 16, 2009 in Davenport, Iowa.
Elsie was born December 26, 1910 in Sanborn, North Dakota to Andrew & Ann Sauer. After graduation from Valley City High School in 1929, she worked in retail at the Fair Store in Valley City, North Dakota.
She was a longtime member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Brookings, South Dakota and a lifetime member of the Catholic Daughters. Elsie was a masterful homemaker and enjoyed playing bridge, traveling & sewing.
Her parents, all of her siblings, her husband, Thomas James Hart and her son-in-law, Thomas C. Guzzo, preceded her in death.
Elsie is survived by her children, Thomas (Dianne) Hart of Corvallis, Oregon, Marie (Tom) Mattison of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Kathleen Guzzo of Bettendorf and Mark (Terry) Hart of Northfield, Minnesota; eight grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.
A memorial service in Brookings, South Dakota will be planned for early summer with interment in Flandreau, South Dakota.
