Emilie M. Baxter, 80, of Bettendorf, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, February 14, 2017.
Per her wishes, there will be no services or visitation and burial will take place at a later date at Rock Island National Cemetery along with her husband, Don. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
Emilie was born January 10, 1937 in Davenport, the daughter of Biago & Helen (Glowacki) Fulli. She was united in marriage to Donald M. Baxter on January 7, 1967 in Milan. He preceded her in death on July 17, 2011.
Emilie and Don had owned a travel agency and Emilie had worked at Davenport’s former President Casino first as a token seller, a hostess with the Casino Events Department and finally as Captain’s Club Supervisor.
She will be fondly remembered as a loving wife and mother, opening her home to family and friends, cooking, baking and enjoying wine. She loved gardening and decorating and breaking bread with her visitors.
Those left to honor her memory include her daughter and son-in-law, Teri & Rick Fagan of Pooler, Georgia; her son, Tony Baxter of Bettendorf; her brothers, Carl and Michael Fulli, both of Rock Island; and special friends, Mary Fisher, Ernie & Linda Smith and Connie Oszfolk.
In addition to her husband, Don, Emilie was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Niki; and her grandson, Dustin Fagan.
Emilie’s family would like to welcome all visitors to her home at any time to join her family in sharing memories and fellowship in her honor.
