Enid Cirillo

Enid P. Cirillo, 85, of Bettendorf, Iowa, died Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at the Iowa Masonic Health Facility in Bettendorf.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 P.M., Monday, June 8, 2015 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf.  Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the services on Monday at the funeral home.  Burial will follow in Rock Island National Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.

Enid was born March 9, 1930 in Muscatine, Iowa, the daughter of Edgar & Ella (Salle) Lodwick.  She was one of five sisters and five brothers.

She was united in marriage to Joseph D. Cirillo on December 24, 1946 in Monmouth, Illinois.  He preceded her in death on January 5, 2003.

Enid was a wonderful person inside and out. Asking nothing for herself, but only what she could do for her family and others.  She had a great sense of humor and would even laugh at herself.

She enjoyed baking, especially at Christmas when she spent days preparing cookies and candies for the family get-togethers on Christmas Eve.  She was an avid Nintendo player, especially Super Mario Brothers. She enjoyed growing houseplants and loved animals.  Later on, she enjoyed her bingo, snacking on her animal crackers, sipping Pepsi and watching TV with remote in hand.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew her and by who had seen her special smile.  She is at peace now, reunited with her husband, her two sons, siblings and parents.

Those left to honor her memory include her daughter and son-in-law, Cathy & Bill Odom of Bettendorf; her sons and daughters in law, Edward Cirillo of Blue Grass, Iowa, Basil & Michelle Cirillo of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Gary Cirillo of Seattle, Washington and Francis & Michelle Cirillo of Colorado; eleven grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; and her sons John and Clifford Cirillo.

Enid’s family would like to thank all the staff at the Iowa Masonic Health Facility. Their compassionate care and love for mom was above and beyond expectations.  We never worried about mom, for we knew she was in the best hands; know that she loved all of you.
