E.R. "Johnny" Lange

E.R. “Johnny” Lange, 99, of Bettendorf, passed away on Sunday, March 9, 2025, at The Fountains, Bettendorf.

Johnny was born on March 3, 1926, in Ames, IA, the son of Peter and Christine (Nielsen) Lange. He married Marlys Johnson in Story City, IA in November of 1952 and later divorced. He served as Vice-President for AAA Motor Club of Iowa retiring in 1978. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps from July 1944 to December 1945. He loved traveling Europe and had a residence in Hawaii, where he spent much of his time.

Survivors include his sons, Ron (Sandy) Lange of LeClaire, IA, Rich (Renee) Lange of LeClaire, grandchildren, Shannon (Wade) Arnold, Denny (Lydia) Lange, great-grandchildren, David Arnold, Regan Arnold, Clayton Arnold, Nora Arnold, Samson Lange, Ezra Lange, Jude Lange and Olive Lange and niece Diane (Larry) Schulte.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Nils Peter Lange, Clifford Lange, Fred Lange, sisters, Glenda Lein, Nellie Jordan and Blanche Cox.

Johnny was an animal lover and adored his childhood pony Billy Bronc, the family dog Brutus, and his grand dogs Hammer, Shooter, Sissy, Daisy, Gunnar and Gus.
