Eraine Mae Perron, 84, a resident of Coal Valley, Illinois passed away November 4, 2010 after an extended illness.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, November 8, 2010 at the First United Presbyterian Church, 801 16 th St., Moline, Illinois. Burial will be in the Rock Island National Cemetery, Rock Island, Illinois. Visitation will be held from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. Sunday at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf, Iowa and one hour prior to the service Monday at the church. Memorials may be made to the Parkinson’s Disease Foundation or to the church.
She was born May 22, 1926 in Kenyon, Minnesota to Obert and Helen (Jones) Wickum and was a graduate of the Moline Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing. She married Clarence Joseph Perron on November 12, 1948 in Rock Island. They were just shy of celebrating their 62nd wedding anniversary.
She was a surgical and office nurse for Dr. Flatley’s Eye, Ear, Nose and Throat office in Moline for 35 1/2 years and retired in 1983. Joe and Eraine spent their early retirement years in Fairfield Bay, Arkansas enjoying time on the golf course, fishing, swimming and making new friends.
Eraine loved spending time with family and spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Family is what brought Joe and Eraine back to the Quad Cities. You could often find Eraine in the kitchen baking special treats for the kids. She also had a strong love for reading and was an active member of First Presbyterian Church, Moline for many years.
Surviving are her husband, Joseph, Coal Valley; brother, Richard (Lori) Wickum, Moline; three children: Diane (Glenn) Jeffrey, Coal Valley; Patricia (Robert) Mulherin, Moline and Steve (Kathy) Perron, Indianapolis; grandchildren: Tara (Chris) Allen, Heather (Nathan) Brewer, Nicole Bussard, Brian (Megan) Mulherin, Beth (Tom) Hawkinson, Adam Mulherin, Allison Mulherin, Andrew Perron, Grant Perron and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her niece, Cindy Stone; her sister, Betty Alden and her parents.
