Eric L. Bloomer, 30, of Davenport, died Wednesday, July 13th, 2005, at Genesis Medical Center-West, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his family.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 18th at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Chapel, Bettendorf. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Lance Armstrong Foundation.
Eric was born October 18th, 1974 in Clinton, Iowa, the son of Leslie and Karen Bloomer. He was a 1993 graduate of North High School, and also obtained a degree in Computer Science from Scott Community College.
He worked and lived in Atlanta, Georgia for 10 years, where he had many friends. He enjoyed playing cribbage and teaching it to others. He was also a Chicago Cubs fan, and loved watching the games.
Eric's computer skills enabled him to make friends all over the world.
Those left to honor his memory include his parents, Les and Karen Bloomer of Davenport; his sisters, Angela Porter, of Davenport, and Tammy Killeen and her husband, Cole, of Atlanta, Georgia; his brothers, Tony Porter and his wife Eleanor, of Davenport, and Jeffery Porter and his wife, Mickey, of Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin; seven nieces; one nephew; many aunts and uncles; and his loving dog, Murphy.
Eric was preceded in death by his brother, Brad Shadwick, and his grandparents, Russell and Eula Mae Bloomer.
