Estelle I. Hunt-Bryan, 92, a resident of Davenport, Iowa, died Tuesday, July 31, 2007 at Crest Health Center, Davenport.
A private prayer service will be held in the Davenport Memorial Park mausoleum where she will be entombed. McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf, is in charge of arrangements. There will be no visitation or funeral services at her request. Memorials may be made to Koenig Center Charities.
Estelle was born March 10, 1915 to William C. and Frannie (Browning) Barritt. She was married to Elmer Mock and later John Hunt. They both preceded her in death. In 1986, she married Jay Bryan.
Her memberships included Pleasant View Baptist Church of Bettendorf for many years; Mohassan Caldron No. 2; Eastern Star #553; RIA 15yr Club; Daughters of the Nile; White Shrine; American Business Womens Association; NARFE; Quad-City Times Plus 60 Club and Ridgecrest Village Service League.
Estelle retired from the Rock Island Arsenal after 27 years. Her hobbies and interests included music, flowers, family and friends.
Those left to honor her memory include her husband Jay; two sons and their wives, Conrad and Beverly Mock of Davenport and Courtney and Carol Hunt of Pleasant Valley, Iowa; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; seven step-great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; several step-great-great-grandchildren; and one niece, Vicki Stanerson of Belle Plaine, Iowa.
