Esther Peterson, 87, a resident of Silvis, Illinois, formerly of Bettendorf, passed away December 12, 2007 at the Aspen Rehab and Health Care Center, Silvis.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, December 17, 2007 at the Messiah Lutheran Church in Henderson Grove, Illinois. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in the Henderson Grove Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the First Lutheran Church of Moline or the Messiah Lutheran Church.
Esther was born on May 14, 1920 in Galesburg, Illinois the daughter of Albin Oscar and Ellen (Johnson) Peterson.
Esther attended First Lutheran Church of Moline, Illinois, but also retained her membership at her hometown church, Messiah Lutheran in Henderson Grove, Illinois. She worked at Deere and Co. Export and at Rock Island Arsenal. Esther enjoyed music and dancing at the Coliseum. She embraced her Swedish heritage, especially through cooking delicious Swedish foods.
She is survived by her niece, Laurie (Cary) DeWester, her very loyal and best friends, Pat Allers and Lois Viane; two great nieces, Amanda (Kevin) Shoop and Julie Peterson; four great nephews, Tony (Candace), Jim (Kara), Jason Peterson and Ronne DeWester, as well as one great-great nephew and four great-great nieces.
Her parents, Albin and Ellen Peterson, as well as her brother, Lloyd Peterson, preceded her in death.
