Esther E. Mcallister

Esther E. McAllister, 90, a resident of Bettendorf, Iowa died on Monday, August 21, 2006 at Trinity at Terrace Park Hospital, Bettendorf.
Her funeral service will be held at 2:30 P.M. Thursday, August 24, 2006 at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Chapel, Bettendorf. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 1:30 P.M. to 2:30 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Church, Princeton, Iowa where she was a member.
She was born October 2, 1915 in Princeton, Iowa, the daughter of Carl & Alvina (Gottschalk) Steffens. On October 2, 1937, she was united in marriage to True H McAllister in Davenport, Iowa. He preceded her in death on November 1, 1967.
Esther was a devoted homemaker, wife & mother. She loved to play bingo and cards with her friends and looked forward to get-togethers with the Bettendorf Senior Citizens. Her beloved family & grandchildren were the joy of her life and she treasured each moment she could spend with them.
Those left to honor her memory include her daughters, Karen (Gerald) Fisher of Clive, Iowa and Joyce (Patrick) Gannon of Eau Claire, Wisconsin; her grandchildren Penne (Robert Jorin) Wilson, Brian Wilson, Jeffrey (Krickette) Corson and Kimberly (Jeffrey) Thomas; her great-grandchildren, Zachary Corson, Parker Corson, Jessica Thomas & Samantha Thomas; and her wonderful & special niece, Irma Ricketts of Bettendorf.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters and one brother.
