Eugene H. Sullivan

Eugene H. Sullivan, 77, a resident of Davenport, Iowa died on Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at Genesis Medical Center, East Campus in Davenport.
As per his wishes there will be no services. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association. McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf, Iowa is assisting the family with arrangements.
He was born in Davenport on September 25, 1932, the son of Harold & Cassie (Wiemkem) Sullivan. On July 2, 1957, he was united in marriage to Lillian E. Michalski at St. John’s United Methodist Church of Davenport.
Eugene was a journeyman bricklayer by trade and owned & operated Sullivan Construction Company of Davenport for many years.
He was a member of the Bricklayer’s Union, the Davenport Masonic Lodge and the In-Fisherman Club.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Lillian; his daughters, Jackie (Bob) Deere of Bettendorf, Jeanne (Paul) Ferring of Blue Grass, Iowa and Sandy (George) Hoke of DeWitt, Iowa; his son, Jim (Sandy) Sullivan of Park View, Iowa; thirteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and his brother Jerry (Joann) Sullivan of Davenport.
Gene was preceded in death by his parents, his son, John, his granddaughter, his grandson and his great-grandson.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the nurses and doctors who cared for Eugene over the years.
