Eva Mae Stein, 89, of Bettendorf, Iowa, died Thursday, August 28, 2014 at UnityPoint Trinity in Rock Island, Illinois.
Services will be private and burial will be in Pennington Cemetery in Sigourney, Iowa. Memorials may be made to UnityPoint Hospice, the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
Eva was born April 4, 1925 in White Oak, Iowa, the daughter of Leslie & Ida (Scharff) Hartgrave. She was united in marriage to Gaylord J. “Gayle” Stein on April 19, 1947 in New Sharon, Iowa. He preceded her in death on August 2, 1994. Her son, Dennis Stein also preceded her in death on October 2, 1999.
Eva was employed for over thirty years with Oscar Meyer in Davenport. She will be remembered for her loving and caring nature and her independent spirit.
Those left to honor her memory include her granddaughter, Dena Stein of Bettendorf; her sisters, Bonnie Gilbert of Lovilla, Iowa, Donna (Dean) Hough of Eddyville, Iowa and Judith (David) Ellis of North Little Rock, Arkansas; many nieces and nephews; and her special friends, Jeanne Jones and Vera Stein of Bettendorf.
